GLackathon 2021, or the Greenlight Virtual Healthcare Hackathon, is the first annual hackathon event hosted by Greenlight Consulting. This will be a free event, aiming to solve real-world issues in the Healthcare industry.

The theme for this hackathon is Automation For Good. We want to see a positive impact come from this healthcare hackathon. We look forward to analyzing the creative and innovative solutions that talented technology students and young professionals, like you, will come up with when tasked with automating for good.

Problem Statements

Problem Statements

When you register, you can choose to submit solution(s) for one or both of the following problem statements (see Rules & Regulations for more info):

 

1. University Health Network (UHN) Problem Statement

This option will allow you to create an innovative solution that improves the overall check-in process and patient’s waiting experience.

Supporting documents: UHN Problem Statement, Outpatient Screening Tool, and New Patient Profile.

  • Please note: If you choose this option, you will be considered for three categories (top UHN solution, top overall solution, and most innovative solution).

 

2. Create Your Own Healthcare-Related Problem Statement

This option will allow you to be creative when deciding on a problem statement and creating a solution.

  • Please note: If you choose this option, you will only be considered for two categories (top overall solution and most innovative solution).

Eligibility

The hackathon is open to:

  1. Individuals who are at least the age of majority according to the law applicable to the province/territory in which you live.
  2. Teams of eligible individuals. You may enter the hackathon individually or you may join as part of a team (max. 4 eligible individuals per team).
  3. Canadian residents only* (excluding Quebec residents).

 

*International students can participate in the hackathon if the following criteria are met:

  • The student is currently enrolled in a Canadian institution with a valid Canadian Study Permit.
  • The student is eligible to work in Canada.
  • The representative for their team is currently residing in Canada.

 

The hackathon is not open to:

  1. Organizations involved with the design, production, paid promotion, execution, or distribution of the hackathon, including Greenlight and its affiliates or subsidiaries.
  2. Any other individual or organization whose participation in the hackathon would create, in the sole discretion of Greenlight, a real or apparent conflict of interest.
  3. Individuals and Teams who are residents outside of Canada** and the province of Quebec.

Only applicants that receive a confirmation email from Greenlight will take part in the hackathon. Read our full Rules & Regulations for more information.

There are prizes to be won across three categories:

  • Top UHN Solution → $1000 in cash + up to $1000 in prizes (see prize options)
  • Top Overall Solution → $600 in cash
  • Most Innovative Solution → $400 in cash

 

Other prizes include:

  • A virtual meet-and-greet and Q&A with our CEO, Shameiz Hemani
  • The announcement of the winners in a press release following the event
  • Additional consideration to be given when applying to future career opportunities at Greenlight Consulting

We’re excited to be hosting our first-ever hackathon, virtually!

5. I submitted my project, when will the winners be announced?

Thank you for submitting your project! We need time to review each project and choose winners, therefore, we will be announcing the winners on February 26, 2021.

 

6. How much does it cost to attend GLackathon 2021?

GLackathon 2021 is a free event! We will provide the details on how to download UiPath’s products and give you access to mentors once you are registered.

 

7. How many people can be on a team?

You can form teams of up to 4 people. Teams must be formed before each team member registers for the event.

 

8. How will communications work during the event?

We will be communicating with participants via email. In addition to email, a Slack channel will be available for participants to speak to Greenlight Consulting and UiPath mentors.

 

9. Are you still looking for sponsors?
